Clubhouse cleaning and general maintenance

As you I am sure are well aware all maintenance is done by club members, we don’t pay anyone to do anything unless we absolutely have to buy in expertise. That’s how we try to keep membership fees down.

There are plenty of opportunities for all members to contribute to running the club, whether it’s through doing racing duties, carrying out work in the clubhouse, attending working parties or serving on the committee. However, if none of these suit you, or if you are up for more, we rather desperately need people to:

Clean the clubhouse, including the loos,
Cut the grass

The good thing about these jobs is that they can be done whenever it suits. The reason that we need to do this is because some members, particularly partners, won’t come to the club because it is ‘always filthy’ which is about the size of it. The only way to remedy this is to have people offer to clean.

I have tried to provide plenty of cleaning equipment. It’s all cheep, and can be replaced if broken, however if you take cleaning equipment for use on your boat please return it or if you trash it replace it. The hoover works to a point.

On this note I would like to thank those who have helped on painting work parties who are many and various.

If you are willing to clean, please let us know and we shall be duly grateful. Don’t forget however that this is a sailing club with mud all around and inevitably dirt will build up again.

Thanks in anticipation,

Annabel
