We are planning a number of additional trail-away dates over the coming weeks and months with the aim of giving some of our younger members a chance to improve their skills and have fun on some enclosed waters (and of course anyone else wanting to have a sail somewhere different). We have chosen a few different venues, all of which are in relatively easy reach of Lydney.
30th May (Saturday) Bristol Harbour
28th June (Sunday) Llandgefedd Reservoir
27th September (Sunday) Cotswold Water Park
For all sessions we plan to meet at the Club in Lydney at 8:00am and then make our way to the venue for the day. There will be a launch fee for each boat, this is aprox £6.50 for the whole day at Bristol (depends on hull length) and £10 at Llandgefedd. You will need to bring evidence of your boat insurance. Members will also be able to use club boats if they are available but will need to arrange transport (the Mirrors will go onto a roof rack quite easily). Canoes and other vessels also welcome!
This is not formal training, and parents / carers must be responsible for their children at all times and whilst afloat. Depending on the interest we can also consider taking an inflatable with a small outboard / oars to provide assistance and on the water support!

Paddle on the Canal Friday 19th June 6:45pm
In addition to sailing we also want to encourage members to use the canal at the club for a paddle / splash about on Friday evenings. Just meet up at the Club at 6:45 on Friday 19th June with a suitable vessel!
