Ben Ball telephoned me, before the weekend, and confirmed that he was ready to start his epic 289 mile kayak from the source of the Severn to Swansea. He is planning to arrive at Lydney at 1330 on Tuesday 14th and spend the night camping in our compoud and departing on the next section of his trip at 1100 the following day. It would be great if some members could be at the club to either welcome him on Tuesday to to wave him off on Wednesday. Ben is doing this to raise funds for the 32nd Swansea Scout Troop (they need £800 to purchase 2 pedal cars to enable them to compete in the Scout pedal car rallies). Ben is a harbour Pilot at Swansea Dock and Port Talbot Harbour.
Ben will be telephoning me before he arrives at Lydney to confirm the final details and I will put a further post out when I have spoken to him.
Let’s see how many of us can go to the club and wish him well in his endeavour.
