Peter Emery and I are arranging some pre-season briefings.
Saturday 31 March @ 1000
Information on OOD duty, racing rules so far as they appertain to Lydney, the use of the VHF by OOD, safety boat crew and helm and dinghy safety. We do like to see both new and old members at these events – new members so that they can learn about the duties at Lydney and old members as they can pass on hints and tips that they have learnt over the years. There is a shakedown cruise scheduled for 1220 and you can then go and utilise some of the information that you have gleaned from the session. If the weather is bad we can hang around and have lunch – there will be a small charge for this.
Sunday 1 April @ 1000 (no this is not an April Fool’s Joke)
Safety boat briefing. This is for anyone who is scheduled to do safety boat helm or crew during the coming season or for anyone who is interested in crewing at some time in the future. The morning will be land based and as there is a race scheduled for 1350 we can spend the afternoon doing some water based training. Again we can provide lunch at a small charge.
